1. Acceptance
Crovi is operated by Crovi Learning LLC. By accessing or using Crovi, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
Crovi is a learning tool that lets users record lectures or discussions, upload documents, PDFs, images, and audio, extract or transcribe text, and generate notes, study guides, flashcards, quizzes, and other AI-assisted study materials. Features may change as the service develops.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use Crovi. If you are not old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, a parent or legal guardian must authorize your use. You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account.
4. Recording responsibility and consent
You are solely responsible for obtaining consent from instructors, students, coworkers, and every other participant before recording. Recording and privacy laws vary by location. You must follow applicable laws and your school, employer, or organization’s policies. Do not secretly or unlawfully record anyone, or record private, confidential, privileged, or sensitive conversations without authorization. Crovi does not grant permission to record.
5. Permitted educational use
Use Crovi only for lawful study, learning, research, and other authorized purposes. You may not use it to invade privacy, harass others, facilitate surveillance, violate intellectual-property rights, gain unauthorized access, distribute malware, disrupt the service, or break any law or policy that applies to you.
6. Academic integrity
Crovi is a study aid, not a way to evade academic rules. You must not use the service for cheating, plagiarism, unauthorized assistance during an examination, or any use prohibited by an instructor or institution. You remain responsible for citations and for submitting your own work.
7. Your content and permissions
You retain ownership of content you record, upload, or create. You grant the operator of Crovi a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, maintain, and support Crovi. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed for everything you submit.
8. AI output
Transcripts, OCR results, summaries, notes, answers, and other AI-generated output can be incomplete or inaccurate. They are not professional advice. Review source material, verify important facts, and use your own judgment before relying on output.
9. Third-party processing
To provide features you request, Crovi uses Anthropic for AI processing and Replit Object Storage for uploaded files and recorded audio. On the web, live transcription uses speech-recognition capabilities provided by your browser, whose provider may process audio under its own terms. In the native iPhone app, live transcription uses iOS speech-recognition capabilities, separately from Anthropic’s AI processing of transcript or study text. On the web, PDF text extraction and Tesseract OCR run in your browser. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies.
10. Crovi intellectual property
Crovi, its branding, software, interface, and original materials are owned by the operator of Crovi or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer those rights to you. Feedback may be used to improve the service without obligation to you.
11. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features and cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. You are responsible for keeping copies of important materials. We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, operate the service, or address suspected violations.
12. Termination and deletion
You may stop using Crovi at any time and may delete individual content using available controls. Signed-in users can permanently delete their account and associated Crovi content from Settings. Contact support@crovilearning.com for account-access, correction, or deletion requests. We may preserve information when reasonably required for security, legal obligations, or dispute resolution.
13. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, Crovi is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The operator of Crovi will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities arising from use of the service. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so they may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify the operator of Crovi from claims and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use, your content, your recordings, or your violation of these Terms or another person’s rights.
15. Copyright concerns
If you believe content processed through Crovi infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@crovilearning.com identifying the work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, a good-faith statement, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and you are authorized to act.
16. Changes and applicable law
We may update these Terms and will update the date above. We will use reasonable means to communicate material changes. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms. Applicable law governs these Terms.
